Toe shapes, toe shapes, toe shapes: options are endless? I've been told that pointed-toe shoes are possible on anyone (just a matter of extending the length of the toe to accommodate for wide forefeet....) and while that might be technically true, I can suggest options that work well for broad toes that (IMO) look fab.

These two toe styles below are more "foot-shaped" and allow for ample toe wiggle room. The cream colored slingback has a bit more definitive angle on the asymmetrical toe box.

Below, the square toe:

I love the toe shape of my vintage Fikany lasts, which is a similar era to the Munson (late 30s-early 40s). Rounded and shaped to allow for that first toe to be aligned and not cramped.

And, the "bulldog" toe! A personal fave. Extreme by today's standards, the shape is from (at least) the 19-teens, as shown in the ad for "Vulco-Unit Box Toe". I've not seen this toe shape in (modern) factory production, maybe because it does take more time and skill to reproduce. So it's left to a handful of us shoemakers to continue replicating.

I made the pointed toe shoes below in 2008. Just adding it as an example -- not everything that I make has a wide toe box. These are made on vintage 1960s lasts and I do love the shape.
